Breeding Quality Silkies

It is fun and it is a challenge to breed good quality birds.  The thing I find the most amazing is that you can have a bird that just looks ok and it can hatch out babies that are stunning. Don't let any breeder ever make you think that just because they raise quality Silkies that every egg you get from them to hatch will turn out to be a Show Quality Silkie. If a breeder tells you this they are not being honest with you and they are just in it for the money. 

Breeding quality Silkie's takes time and effort and there will be a range of chicks from just pet quality to better looking and then there is Show quality. A honest breeder will tell you that this is something that takes patience and hard work. So therefor you can expect to pay a high price range if you purchase a Show quality Silkie. The person you purchase the bird from has worked long and hard to produce that bird.
